Something to hide

In most of our lives, there is something going on below the surface.
What people see is one thing. What’s really going on is another.
And on our own, we’re pretty good at convincing ourselves of things that aren’t quiet fully true.
Yes, would could work harder, regardless of how we feel. Yes, we could lose weight, regardless of our supposed need to meet our hunger pains. Yes, we could turn of the TV, regardless if not having it on is a fearful thing. Yes, we could spend less money, regardless that spending the stuff meets an emotional need.
And yes, we could devote ALL of our life to Christ, regardless of how deeply we’ve dug in our heals on our most cherished attitudes and behaviors.
Sometime is good that we remind ourselves that God is only looking at what is below the surface when he looks at us spiritually.

Very true.
Nothing is hidden from His view. Nothing.
Excellent reminder of God’s eye into our hearts.
It also helps us to look at other people and remember that we can’t see their hearts. But though we can’t see their hearts, we know without a doubt that everyone we see has some form of struggle going on underneath. We would put forth more grace and encouragement if we kept that in mind.
