The Moments of Life…

Posted on June 9, 2007

A life of leisure or a life of seizure? Do we live seeking to enjoy life or do we live seeking to seize life?

This photograph is a one of amazing timing. And there is a simple lesson in it. Life happens in steps.

One moment before this photograph the boy was dry. The next he was wet.

One moment in life our eyes are on Jesus. The next they are not.

If we live a life of leisure, we allow the moments of life to click by without much forethought or afterthought. And worse, we allow the moments to come and go without Jesus being part of our thoughts or actions.

If we live a life of seizure, we capture the moments of life for Jesus and with Jesus for his glory and our pleasure. And it is those moments, if we’ll be honest, are some of the richest moments.

We far to often want a life a leisure, yet we know the best life is a life of seizure.

Very nice photograph. Amen to Linda’s comments about your photo selection.

I totally like your words. If we live with our life with our eyes on Jesus then we ARE living a life of seizure.

    Steve,
Do you mind if I add a link to your blog from mine?

    Thanks! I needed that!

“Do we live seeking to enjoy life or do we live seeking to seize life?”

That all goes along with my other two mottos:
“Do I eat to live or do I live to eat?”
    and
“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses!”

I’m really trying this week to live a life of seizure … to enjoy the little things in life as well as Jesus in every moment of every day.

    Jonell
