Fill Me Up

I am not one of those people who gains great pleasure in eating.

I don’t crave any one food. I am losing the sweet tooth that I used to have. I drink water almost exclusively. My two weak-nesses are strawberries and cream from Starbucks (twice a week) and a good muffin (once a week).

I am not intending to brag or toot my own horn, rather I tend to see food as I often see spiritual growth, and that is not a good thing.

I tend to only eat to quiet my hunger pains. And I have to be careful to not grow spiritually only in a dutiful way.

I want an insatiable desire to be filled spiritually. And I want it seven days a week. And I want it three times a day. I want to be filled up, and satisfied just as food is.

God, grant to me deep hunger pains for you and your word.
