Sweeter than thin mints

I often need the words of Scripture to jump off the page and grab my heart.  And I often need such Scripture to be more powerful than any earthly joy. 

Why am I so I needy? Good question. Perhaps because I am human. Perhaps my heart longs for something bigger than this world offers.  I understand the power of Girl Scout cookies. Each year I buy several boxes of thin mints.  Frozen thin mints are heavenly.  And so is Scripture.

The ordinances of the LORD are sure 
and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, 
than much pure gold; 
they are sweeter than honey, 
than honey from the comb.

It is a good day when I can honestly say that a portion of God’s word has become sweeter than thin mints.   I am very grateful that God has moved my heart in such a way. Such joy and pleasure is heavenly.
