Perspective & Greatness

To some people this photograph represents something that sounds inviting. To other people the idea of having ONE Great Dane, let alone THREE Great Danes as pets at one time is crazy, if not absurd.

The same is true spiritually. To some people the idea of studying a particular book of the Bible until they are near experts about it sounds inviting. To other people the idea of giving up their family vacation for a short-term missionary trip is absurd.

I believe such things are more about our perspective on life than about our personalities and giftedness.

Depending on who we spend time with, or depending on what high value we place on missions or Scripture, or depending on our openness to the Holy Spirit moving us to do great and sacrificial things, we could very well see such things as inviting or absurd.

As Christians, doing great and hard and sacrificial things is who we are. May God change us and our perspectives. There are too many great things still to be done for our Lord.
