Merry Christmas!

I was struck this year of my own need to keep my eyes forward and past all earthly sentiments of Christmas.

Christmas is about Jesus. It is not about gifts or trees or songs or food. Christmas is about the glory of a loving God manifested in the flesh so that people could be saved from their sins.

Saved from sins. Thatâ€™s the point.

Sin and being saved from them. Not just eternally, but saved from todayâ€™s sins and yesterdays sins. And the sins weâ€™ll carry over into tomorrow.

We need Jesus Christ. Thatâ€™s the point.

We need what we ourselves cannot supply. We need help. We need wise counsel. We need rescuing. We need strength and backbone and resolve. We need what we so desire, but what we so often cannot muster.

Christmas is about Jesus Christ. May we all continue to keep our eyes there.
