Immortal!

I read these words this morning…

“If [God] has work for me to do, I cannot die”

“We are immortal until the work God has for us is done”

The first quote comes from Henry Martyn, an English missionary to India in the early 1800’s. The second quote is from John Piper and his words follow Henry Martynâ€™s in John Piperâ€™s book, “What Jesus Demands from the World”, Page 123.

Such words, and such thinking, and such a view of life is just as rare as it is a blessing. We are Godâ€™s, and we created by Jesus Christ to do good works, and we are immortal until they get done.

God is sovereign and we should greatly rejoice that our life has gone from a condemned sinner to indispensable ambassador.
